I've read a ton of threads on here and seen a ton a great ideas. I have a 96 ford explorer 4x4 4dr and want to get about 2-3inches in the rear. I thought about shackles but don't want to ruin my old leaf springs. I thought about swapping the leafs with a set out of a full size 4x4 pickup but wasnt sure has anyone done this? And how did it turn out? Thanks :D

AFAIK, you can't take an entire spring pack from another vehicle and put it in to get the lift..

What you can do though is find some f-150 rear leaves that are 2.5" side and take specific leaves from that one and put them into your current pack to change the height AND spring rate..

I'd probably replace a leave instead of add a leaf.. Adding a leaf will probably stiffen up the ride too much while only replacing a leaf will still lift it but "shouldn't change the spring rate as much..

It's pretty much trial and error to get the spring pack the way you want it.

Okay thank you. I wasn't sure if getting a leaf pack out of a full size truck like an f150 or even a bronco would add any height to the rear end. I probably will just replace a leaf. I saw another post on here with a walk through. I live in the country so a couple inches will deff help out especially during Maine winters. I'm gunna check out a few options. Either way I have full access to a junk yard up here so spring packs are pretty easy to come by
