Wish I could find such a book but I can't so permit me to look dumb in front of everyone but....

Can I use shackles AND add-a-leaf at the same time? Pluses, minuses?

Also, can I use blocks to lift leaf springs up from axle AND a combination of add a leaf and/or shackles?

What I want in the end is my rear end (of my X) to be higher than the torsion-lifted front (2") slightly. I hate rear-end sag and would rather sit a little higher back there than in the front. Also, I don't want the end to sag when I have a full tank of fuel so I'm figuring this should solve it.

Problem is; from what I read here, it seems Warrior shackles max out at 1.5 in lift and I really need 3.5"

Anyone? -AC

No you can't use blocks on your axle to give you more lift. Since your axle is above your leafs, putting blocks in between will push the axle more into the wheel wells which will lower it. I believe some people may have used a combination of the Warrior shackels and add-a-leafs. I would check the maximum angle of the driveshaft first though as well as brake lines, etc. They should be easily lengthened if needed, but it would suck to get both shackels and add-a-leafs put on only to find out your brake lines are stretching.

The combo of shackles and add-a-leaf works great. I got 2.5 inches after everything settled in. But I was only able to get 1.5 in on the front, so it all worked out.

Thank you Robert and Jefe.

Jefe, your rig looks fantastic and gives me renewed hope about the poor-man's torsion lift. From what I see with your picts, your X sits just the way I want mine to sit when it's through.

Thanks Robert for the tip on blocks. I think I'll go for the shackle/add-a-leaf deal as this should be inexpensive, aesthically pleasing and stiff enough to run around level even with a full tank of gas and towing a small trailer from Home Depot.

ACBlessing,
Thanks for the compliment. I just hope you were looking at my truck with the 31's on it, and not the newer pictures after I've added the 33's and 3" body lift.
