Rear lock not working

This is on my GF's moms 97 mountie- her rear passenger door's lock works intermittnetly, it will work for a few weeks and then stop. It is only when you push the lock/unlock button, if you do it manually, its just fine.

anyone have any ideas?

Probably the actuator. Mine crapped out and was making a loud eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh sounds when I would lock/unlock it(through the button). I unplugged it.....yes I'm lazy.

Mine is doing the same thing. Mine isn't making some loud sound though. I want to find out what it is too.
