I have checked this forum top to bottom, has anyone seen what size rear lowering blocks are being used?
I checked out Godfathers setup and plan to do the same setup but do not see the rear blocks mentioned!

Well, how low do you want to go? There are 1 inch blocks, 2 inch, 3, 4, 5 inch, it all depends on how low you want to go. Just remember that you're gonna have to match that height in the front though.

I ended up just using 1" blocks in the rear. With the lowering I did up front It looks nice and level.

Thanks Guys, I believe member "Godfather" dropped his X by lowering the torsion bars 2", and guess he used
2" blocks for the rear! Im gonna double check on that setup of his. Get back to you soon! I want to drop 2".
Anymore than that, figure might as well bag it!

Lowering X

Im confused, when referring to lowering of a car, for example a "2/4 drop"......which Ive seen in countless "how to" drop projects, 2 is front drop and 4 is rear drop.
Im trying to make sense of this. Why would you drop the rear more than the front? What happens if you go 2/2? Would it drop level?

You would do more drop in the rear if your truck has a little rake at stock height, so it sits level when lowering. Usually, Explorers don't need to be lowered as much in the rear because these trucks usually have a lot of rear end sag.

Wow, BM, your truck looks naked on that picture there! :D

BM and Hartman pretty much covered all your questions but I'll add that if you lower your truck more than 2" in the front, the shops won't be able to get it to align properly even after installing the eccentric camber kit. Mine sits 2.25" lower and I have -1.3 camber. Not good.

i need to know some brand name's of the block yall are useing caus all the shop that i have been going to keep telling me they don't know how. I also have told them how low and they said if i lower it 2" then up front i would have to change my control arms or i-beams because it won't aline like it suppost to, i'm guessing 0 but how is yall's? So im basically asking how yall are doing it. Plz help cause ever that i ask tells me that is can't work. Sorry that it is really long.

Most of us get blocks from the parts store, the brand doesn't really matter. I got mine with a black casting on it for strength.

Go find another shop, explodr04.

The ideal degree would be 0 camber but up to -1.0 camber is still good. With 2" drop and camber kit installed any good alignment shop could achieve this camber. As for the blocks, just buy a universal drop block at any parts store like what Hartman said.
