I have a stock 02 explorer with 16" aluminum rims. I replaced my rear out tie rods with the house brand from Oreilly but they are rubbing on the rim. They said they sold me the right ones, but this cant be right. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. I changed the rear outer on my 2004 Mercury Mountaineer which is basically an Explorer. The problem was the ball joint was not all the way in. I took a sledge and hit the ball joint hard 4 or 5 times and it went it. The bolt then fell into place. If you had to pound the bolt in, the ball joint probably is not seated all the way in.
