Ok.. This is my last problem (for now)
...
I was replacing my rotors and pads (finally)... When I got one of my rear rotors off.. the parking brake shoe pads came with it! So now I have to replace them as well...
So I tried to take off the hubs. But I didn't do my research first. I remove the axle nut (boy was that tough) and then tried to pry off the hub. Low and behold I only just pushed out the axle and the hub didn't move. So I realized there was something more to this. So I greased up the splines the best I could and pulled the axle back on the hub with the axle nut.
Then I found this website. Which said that it's possible to change the brakes without removing the hub. So I guess I'll try that... but I guess my question it... did I do any damage to my rear wheel assembly. I didn't push the axle all the way out... but I did push it I'd say at least an inch. Enough to see the splines on back side.
So far the car seems to drive fine. There are no noises that I can tell that are different than before?
Should I just wait it out.. check it again in about 10K for any signs of play?
Now I know I have to remove a lot more crap to get the hub off!
And how much of a Bi$%ch is it to change those rear brake shoes with the hub on. The pictures in the thread seem to show more room than I remember seeing..
Thanks again!
I wish I would have read more before I started this whole project!
