Hi everyone,

I noticed lately that the rear passenger side window won't go down. I have tried from both the driver side switch and the actual door's switch, still a no go. Anyone had this issue or heard of this issue and know of a fix? I don't think it is the motor.....

Can you hear the motor working when you push the button? Better yet take the panel of and see if the arm moves when you push the button. If nothing is working when the button is pushed then check your connections. If there still isn't anything I would suggest a motor. Also do all of your testing with the switch connected to the door you are working on. Don't base your decision on the driver's switch.

There are no sounds when I do that. Could it be a fuse for that door?

I think all the doors run on one fuse, but check your fuses to see if any of them are blown. Can you manually push the window down (carefully)?

I have the same problem, and the dealer said it was fine. I wonder if the rubber seal at the top mixed with rain, other substances in the air cause it to"glue" itself. I hit the window a few times and it worked fine. when I do the windows, I clean the inside/outside real good. Maybe i should put some Armorall on the rubber seal ?

I had the same thing happen to mine also. I only got the dealership to replace the motor twice in the left rear window. They couldnt figure it out (great techs they hire)

Yeah motors go bad, there's nothing they can do about that. Sometime they last decades sometimes only weeks no one knows.

I found that when the Explorers with this problem came in, we narrowed it down to a wire in the harness going through the rubber through tube to the door (drivers door) had a wire that was chaffed to the wire causing it to arc and blow the motor.

plus it isn't always Ford quality going back into the Explorer, it is remanufactured Autozone, Advance Auto, or what-ever place they get the motor from. If you don't tell them specifically you want a Ford motor assy in its place, it won't be.

There's a TSB 07-16-14 for the rear window motor being stuck in the up position. You should be able to get it replaced if your still under warranty. I had the same problem.
