I have thinking...:D

In the next rendition of Monster (yes JP theme will be going away) I was thinking of adding some quarter panel protection, similar to the jeep guy use for there corners. I'm thinking 3/16's is over kill. Maybe something like 1/8". Part of this is protection, the other is my quarter panels are trashed on my truck from a rollover and a wall in Calico.

Here are some examples.... Discuss Please

You can get rid of your stock taillights and have the armor wrap around the back and fill in the taillight area, and put some LEDs in there too. I know truckhaven likes to eat taillights.

Maybe some 3/8" UHMW...seems to work pretty good for skidplates. You could use those nutserts with flush head fasteners to attatch them.

Great...so If I roll the truck again, I can open a Subway on the side of the truck.

ok..

I could not find 5/32" which is .1563. Here are the other options

3/16" (.1875) is 7.64lb per sq ft
9/64" or 10ga (.14) 5.627lb per sq ft
1/8" (.125)5.0lb per sq ft

Will be about 5 sq ft or so each side.

3/16" 38lbs.
9/64" 28lbs.
1/8" 25lbs.

Remember you bolting the two together so it will about 3/16" in the end if using 9/64"

ok one word tank ...... ok but um seriously go for the 1/8th the wieght is well worth the protection :) ps i love your explorer..... i might just take it..... :P
