Some of you may find this funny, But I cant Get the rear rotors off my 2003 XLT Sport 4x4 explorer, I got the wheels off calipers off pads out of the road but the parking brake internals seem to be snagged on the lip of the inner portion of the rotor, and there is NO WAY to back the parking brake assembly off or is there? My parking brake works great and the last thing I wanta do is destroy that by forceing the rotor off with 2 big pry bars LOL

any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Take care

Dave

hammer solved everything no? lol few wacks :D

yea man give it a hit with a hammer between each 2 lugs... that usually loosens up the rust and itll come rite off

for my 02 I had the same issue. Just un-clip the parking brake cable from the 2 arms next to the rear wheel that go into the rotor from behind the wheel. Those arms are not bolted on and can be slid out. If you do that you will allow the parking shoes to slide back a little further and should help you get the rear rotor off.

Good luck

I had to some PB Blast to loosen the rotors on my '05. Then two licks and in my hand.
