My left rear sags a bit, I noticed it when I first got it, but thought it was my garage floor. But the other day i was looking at it after pulling my big heavy trailer around and sure enough it is lower on that side.

I was wondering if it is the spring, or some other component (sway bar?) causing it. And the frickin thing IS NOT covered under warranty!

Anyone have an idea of what it would cost to replace the rear suspension with something better than stock, since it looks like I am going to need to replace something back there. Remember I have a huge trailer that I pull.

What are my options. I dont off road with it, I bought it strictly for towing my horses around.

Kilroy,

I have the same problem on my 91, it is the springs. So far I have not found any options to correct this other than new springs. I have access to a good machine shop in my area and I am planning on having them make a longer version of a warrior shackle with a bunch of holes in it so I can set each side at different "heights".

I thought of putting an add-a-leaf in one side but that would result in uneven spring tensions on each site.

Best regards.

Left side? Gas tank and the driver. You gotta figure you got a whole lot more weight on that side of the truck all of the time so your springs settle more over there. Its pretty common. I would say since you do tow a bunch either get an ad-a-leaf or a set of those new OME springs.

I saw them put some kind of helper system on a pickup and an Explorer on Crank & Chrome, but cant remember what it was. It attached to the u-bolts at the axle and hooked over the rear shackle.
