I've got the axle shaft out and new bearing sitting in the truck. Hitting this thing with the three jaw attachment on the slide hammer is doing nothing. Just sliding the truck on the jack stands. The bearing seal has failed and the bearing it so busted up now from the slide hammer. We have to get it out. I can't go too much longer not being able to drive my X.

93, 4wd, limited slip diff, drums in rear.

mine was kind of stuck when did mine. first problem I had was the tool i rented from autozone was shot. The hooks were rounded off badly. Got my hands on another, applied some PB blaster, and tapped around it with a punch and hammer to get it in there. took a few hours, but i managed to bully mine out of there.

The only advice i can make is make sure the tool you have is not warn out.

Do you have other attachments for the Slide Hammer. Maybe a single piece to only grab one side of the bearing. Whack it then rotate to another section might break it loose.

Also I noticed on the inexpensive Slide hammers teh three Jawed deviced flex when you slide the hammer enough so they keep popping off the bearing. You gotta tighten up that center piece so it holds the Jaws outward tightly.
You are using at least a 5 lb slide..right?
I broke the bearings out of the cage with the slide hammer which let me grab the outer race better.
