Rear Window wiper on Sport

I noticed that Ford improved the rear window wiper on the sport after 2002. My 2001 sports wiper is a POS. It used to be mounted on the door and had a rest bar to hold the wiper when not in use. It was a POS and broke easy and was kinda crappy overall. Half the time the wiper came to rest it didnt land in the rest channel. I see that its now mounted on the window and has no rest. I hate that fricken joke of a wiper. Bad design.

Would a 2002 window fit an earlier model ex? Also, is it possible for a glass shop to cut a hole in the window so you could mount a newer wiper?

It would be a massive job to do. How would you cover up the previous holes? It just wouldnt work well. Luckily I rarely need the wiper anyhow. Just put rain-X on it and forget about it.

Yea, the rear wiper thing is a sore subject and has been discussed here before. I wish I did not have one at all. I never ever use it so I can't say if it is useless or not. I just don't need it! Plus it would look a ton cleaner with out it!
