Anyone have a quick remedie for this. They are just about 2x as slow as the front windows.

got the same problem with my rear windows. and they squeek and shake bad too.

No squealing or shaking here. Just plain Ol Slow. I could swear they are much slower than they were 6 mos. ago. ??

Every Explorer I've ever been in is like that, even a 2001 model. I believe they are designed that way. Possibly to make it easier to get the window open just the right amount when doing it from the driver controls.

Just the rear ones?

Yup! My rear windows do the same thing too. No squeaks or shakes, just plain slow. It is the design so I'm not even gonna worry about it.

I must be loosing my mind as I thought they have slowed in the last few months. I guess I never noticed how s-l-o-w they are. Oh well. LOL

Yup I've got the same problem plus my passenger side rear window squeaks as it goes up.

Not your imagination

It's not your imagination. I have a '91 XLT and my rear windows also take approx. 8 secs to roll up. When it gets near the top it will barely make it and the lights start to go dim until I let the button go.
When I bought it in '97 they were fine. My friends 2001 is just fine. I have no idea what it is.

No my 2002 is the same way, slow windows, except if u push a button (or more than one) the lights dim , they prolly would use too much power to move any faster i dont know

Really clean both sides of the glass, and see if it makes any difference.

The rear windows might be a bit slower to prevent kids from putting them up too fast and injuring themselves, but I think you mean reeaal slow. I have seen Explorers that have that problem due to crud on the windows.

Try spraying the tracks that the window slides on. I just changed the motor for the rear driver side window. After I got the motor installed, I noticed that the window went up very slowly and had the shakes. I sprayed the tracks with a silicone spray, and it is as good as new.

I agree with Van, LUBRICATE THE TRACKS ON THE SIDES OF THE WINDOW FRAMING. I've had this problem on 2 different Fords and this always helps. Use a silicone lubricant or a good 3 in 1 oil, you'll notice a big difference
