I know there's been a bunch of stuff on the rear wiper blades not wiping the whole window, but I have a different problem. My rear wiper stopped working entirely. This shouldn't happen on a '99 and I'm wondering if any of you had ideas on what happened or how to fix it before I take it to the dealership.

Does the motor in the hatch still turn? If it does, the splines that hold the wiper to the motor shaft may be worn off. If the motor doesn't work at all, check the wire connections at the hatch and switch, it's possible something just got disconnected or that the switch itself is bad. Good luck.

It could also be the sensor for the rear glass. If it thinks the window is open, the wiper won't operate. That sensor/switch may be bad. Also check and make sure the wiring running from the main body into the rear door hasn't been damaged.
