Hey folks I know this one has been beaten to death but, I have my 93 explorer that Im working on and within the next year or 2 I would like to get the motor rebuilt. Well the thing is do I get it rebuilt or get a rebuilt 5.0.

Here is my reasoning for the swap-
Eventually the tranny will be swapped.
Generally dislike the 60 degree 4.0 block.
MPG with the 4.0 sucks.
Power on the 4.0 is not bad, but not what it could be.
5.0 has countless performance/aftermarket parts
Id like to do a double row radiator and electric fan setup anyways.
General rebuild on the 4.0 is expensive.
I would get a 3 year warrenty on the 5.0 and finish it the way I want.
Plenty of these sitting in scrap yards to pull the rest of what I need.
