Hi thanks for your help. I have read and learned much from this site.

I have a 2000 explorer 5r55e. I need your opinions. My tcc is bad and I read I should replace my epc while im there. Is it ok to replace these solenoids and put it back together? I was very happy with the transmission opperation prior to my tcc failure. 64000 miles on the explorer. Also can I buy parts from one of our members?

Welcome to this forum! Both the TCC, and EPC solenoids are modulated, so they are considered high wear parts. The solenoid failed with low mileage. It might be a good idea to replace the EPC at the same time, but if you aren't having a problem with it, then you could leave it until it starts to act up. If you want to replace it for now so that you will have peace of mind later on, then you could replace it now, and save the old one as a spare. You should still be able to get more mileage out of it.

Thanks BrooklandBay I do appritiate your input. Sincerely Fitz
