Does anyone know how to find out what recalls are still open on my X? A few months ago, I got a list of like 30 recalls that needed to be done but I lost it. According to the "My Ford" webpage, there's only one outstanding recall and they're not answering my emails.

30 recalls? How about maybe 6 recalls and a bunch of TSBs... And remember, not all TSBs appy... Happy trails...:)

I got 8 for mine. So Ford will replace these things, if you take it down to one of thier shops for free? Or how does that work?

Take the Vin numbe rintom a Ford dealer. They will have any open recalls for the X on file....

Could be. Do they list TSBs on the list Ford sends to owners? Does Ford fix TSBs for free?

How long to the recalls last. My truck had a number of recalls 92 xlt. Too late?

If it is a safety recall, forever. The liftgate one might be on-going......

Wise guys, I think I need some explanations about these recalls stuff.
Here is a link to the page with recall info and TSB for the truck of my year.

In safety recall they mentioned Seat Belt Buckle Replacement and Brake Booster Replacement. Crankcase said that safety recalls last forever so is that mean that I can go to the dealer and ask them to replace that stuff for free???
I actually have problem with driver's seat belt - it wont hold in the place (wont lock) so I lock it in the thing at the passager seat. And it is always a good think to keep brakes in good order - why not to replace a Brake Booster if it is free?

Can I do that? Can I go to the dealer and ask them for that?

If it's a recall, the dealer has to replace it for free. However, don't count on getting a loaner. They'll almost never do that.

Can someone give me a definate answer on whether or not non-safety recall TSBs are free?

OK, TSBs and RECALLS are different animals. TSBs are technical service bulletins. Not all TSBs apply to a given vehicle. Only if applicable. An example being the SOHC rattle between 2500-3000 RPMs. If your vehicle doesn't exibit the symptoms, then the TSB doesn't apply. TSBs are only "FREE", if performed while vehicle is still under warranty. Unless of course FORD sends out a warranty extention notification, such as the FIRESTONE tire issue, and the early SOHC intake gasket/timing chain tensioner isues and on some, the DPFE module. Safety recalls are free and do not expire unless the vehicle is destroyed or the owner who received the safety recall sent in the postcard declining to have the RECALL done. Hope this helps.
