receiver trailer hitch

I have a 97 sport with a class 3 reciever hitch on it, I am selling the truck but I have a 96 4 door xlt and I was wondering if that hitch I have on the sport will fit my xlt, I heard somewhere that the hitches are different due to the length of the frames being different between the 2 door and the 4 door, does anyone know anything about this?

99% sure that it will fit. The only hang up sometimes is whether it will clear the larger spare or not.
