I have an 07 4.0 that will need a new battery soon. What would be a good battery to drop in that will last me a good long time?

Almost any battery you get that is at the top of its grade (ex; silver, gold, platinum..) is going to last you a reasonable time. I have had good luck with Die Hard, and Autocraft/Autolite? forget what the name is for sure. If you have some extra $$ an Optima Red Top is an awesome battery. I have had all of these batteries last for more than 5 or 6 years. Just like the engine tho, you want to take care of your battery, and get one with at least, if not more than, your recomended cold cranking amperage suggests.

SALE HAS ENDED

Compare the AGM Sears DieHard Platinum P-2 to ANY battery in it's price range.
4 year free replacement/100 month pro-rated warranty. 930 CCA, 135 min. reserve.
It also bolts in without the use of optional adapters and looks like it belongs there.
I thought it was a bargain at $220. Sale price is now $165 at my local Sears stores.

Buy the cheapest you can get or the one with the longest warranty.

i use a motorcraft, 6 years later it still works.

I actually had a Red Optima that went back after 15 months. It wasn't holding a charge and I had to jump it all the time. I thought it was the stereo or amps that caused it but it ended up being a short in the battery after a month of checking everything else. Good thing it has a 2 yr warranty. Just exchanged it at Advanced AutoParts.
