Reinstalling Front drive shaft Gen 2

Well, as is so often the case I have taken something apart and cannot make it fit back together. I have replaced the front driveshaft (the cv joint was failing) and I have the new one almost in but I can't get the 6-bolt flange to align properly so I can reattach the CV joint to the transfer case. Any tips? (it is SOOOOO close, but the bolts just dont seem to wanna go in)

so it is the right size just doesnt line up because ive heard of it being short before but not just not lining up

jack both front wheels off the ground then try it

Also there are three different length front d shafts for your application I believe, you may have one that is too long or too short?
