Release date for new version BFG MT's is..........

August 15! I got the info from the factory guy at the sponser booth at TDS. He says all but two sizes will be available then, with the rest out in October. They will NOT have siping in the center lugs, as originally planned.
I forgot to ask, but I'm sure they will have the same fixed price structure as the AT's.

Why not sipe the center lugs?

He told me the originally planned siping caused chunking; pieces of tread breaking off during offroad use, and the wet pavement traction benefit was marginal. They experimented with less and shallower siping, and finally decided to have none.
So now, the only changes will be bead protection, some sidewall tread, slightly changed tread pattern, and of course, higher prices!
