This afternoon I relocated my front brake hoses so that they are behind the shocks and approx. 1 1/2 inches lower than stock. This will allow me to run the longest shock that I can without worrying about tearing off a brake hose (again). It will also solve the problem with the aftermarket braided stainless hoses getting pinched between the coils.
I drilled new holes for the brake fittings in the shock tower and ran new brake lines to the master cylinder and between the driver's and passenger's side. The effect is very similar to how Gloria's front brake hoses are routed, except that there was no fabrication required as my shock towers are un-modified.
