can anybody help me, I'm installing a remote start and aftermarket alarm on my 2000 explorer 5.0. oes anyone know where I could find the factory alarm and if I could pull features and reinstall them to the new alarm?

The factory alarm is built into other componants of the vehicle remote entry, GEM, etc... Your best bet would be to find out if your remote start system has a PATS module for it. Sometimes refered to as a PATS bypass module. You may have to buy seperatly. IMHO I would not attempt to defeat the factory anti-theft system as it usualy results in nothing but trouble.
