Dear all,

A couple of weeks ago, my remote keyless fob stopped working all of a sudden. Pushing the lock/unlock buttons has no effect anymore. My local Ford repair shop was $154 to diagnose the problem, that's beyond my budget.

Since then, I've been browsing a lot through all different forums to troubleshoot the fault. I've found quite useful information (like this), for example, I've found instructions to retrieve the code for the keyless keypad on the Central Security Module module (CSM). I've also tried to program a new, spare key fob (using the 8x on/off mode change) without success.

Since two of three methods to unlock the vehicle (key, keypad) work and one doesn't (remote keyless fob), this led me to the conclusion that the communication between the remote keyless fob and CSM module somehow fails. How can I verify this?

I found a thread that explains how to replace the CSM module here. Does anyone know the part number for which I should look out? Where can I find a wiring diagram?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

I would start by disconnecting the negative cable on the battery for 20 minutes.

This will reset the computer and could fix the problem.

I have the shop manuals & wiring diagrams if you need them.

Good luck getting it sorted.
