Dear All,

I bought a Crime Stopper EZ-34.DP.II for my 2000 Explorer (not installed yet).
In the installation manual i saw a bypass module for the immobilizer. Do I need this bypass module also? Has anybody already experiance here?

Thanx in advance,

g-fall

Yes you do need the bypass module or the anti-theft system will not allow the vehicle to start.

A bypass module, at least the one i have, just has your second key under the dash inside it that sends the signal from the key to the anti-theft system when you start the vehicle with the remote start.

I think there is some modules that dont need to have the key inside it, they just copy the code from your key.

So if you need another key it is a good idea to buy another one and program it in before installing the module so you can still have your extra key. As you can program a third key if you have two keys programed already, otherwise the dealer can add another key for you but its pricey as everything else is at the dealer.

I have a cheap remote starter but i did need this module and it was 70 extra bux to install it at the place i went to get it done since i was too lazy to do it myself.

ok, than i need one more module...

thanx a lot
