Does the horn sound when it doesn't start? It is supposed to.
Are you the original owner and did this issue just start to happen? If so, do you have anything plugged into the power posts or USB ports that wasn't there before the issue?

No. It just acts like it is going to start. A click under the hood then nothing. However, just so i am giving all the facts, the SUV starts without issue when I do it the normal way.

Check to make sure the "hood" switch is saying the hood is closed. It will not remote start if the car thinks the hood is open. You can start it the normal way with the hood open.

It may not make a difference but have you tried both keyfobs?

I checked the safety switch. I opened the hood and the horn beeps when trying the auto start . Then I held down the safety switch. There is no horn but just a click in the engine compartment.

Ok. I had this same issue on a 2006 Ford 500, the auto start was an older Ford Accessory(new in 2006) . The problem was with the PATS Key security. I had to have the FOB reprogramed to the car. It acts like a key and there is a wire that runs around the Ignition Key slot that lets the FOB start the car. Not sure what the modern version of that is now.

You may need to take it to a shop that can read and program all the FORD modules on the car.

I have the same issue and I am looking for a solution.

Malfunctions in the Remote Start System

If the basic checks haven‘t solved the problem, you may have a malfunctioning component in your remote start system.
  • Remote Start Module: The remote start module is responsible for receiving the signal from your key fob and starting your vehicle. If the module is faulty, it may need to be replaced.
  • Wiring Issues: Damaged or loose wiring in the remote start system can prevent it from working properly. Inspect the wiring for any signs of damage and repair or replace any faulty wires.
  • Sensors: Some Ford Explorers have sensors that can disable the remote start function, such as the hood sensor or the door ajar sensor. Check these sensors for any malfunctions.

A few members have reported that having something plugged into the power or USB ports interfered with their remote start.
