Remote start Key Fob

That is true. My sales guys was surprised at how much i knew. When i told him what each trim came with versus adding he was surprised. I kinda miss my 5th gen. I had 2016 limited (purchased in summer of 2015) loaded with safety, comfort, and technology package. I then ended up upgrading my MFT to Sync 3. before trade in it had under 45,000 miles.

I believe that feature is built in the BCM and IPC unfortunately the mapping of the codes have not been discovered yet or shared to the public in FORScan.

Not sure anyone that has posted, has ordered the VSS module. But on other forums, some say directions are with it. Not sure how the other vehicles seem to be on the bleeding edge of knowing, maybe some paid for IDS or is a tech?

My question is this. Are people knee jerk purchasing this vehicle without in-depth investigation as to what features are included with or available with as options on the different trim levels ? I spent months since the 6th gen launch asking questions at several dealerships and, following various threads on this forum before committing to buy.

Same here. Thats why i got the Limited. The ST is nice but was not worth the extra amount and features i was looking for.

why do you miss it? just curious.

I loved the layout of the dash and how the controls were positioned.
The AC control were more user friendly and consistent.
It had all the bells and whistles, without having to have a different trim.
The 2020 model i have to press the recirculate button on the AC
Now there are 3 levels of auto AC. Low, Med., and HI.
Also the seat cooler comes on drivers side all the time.
I had the park aid feature on my limited but it is not an option on the 2020 limited as an example.

The driver's cooled seat coming ON is not normal. Have you had that looked at?
Having 3 modes of A/C in Atuo mode could be useful in that each has its own advantage/disadvantage.
When I had my 2017 Platinum I also had to press the recirc button when the A/C was ON if I wanted to use it.

My 2016 limited stayed that the I had when I turned the car off. The 2020 is the exact opposite. I’m taking in Monday for service unrelated but will have them look at it.

I see this thread has been dormant for a while. I'm close to pulling the plug on a 21 xlt with awd and tow package. I have a 17 xlt 2.3 awd that I added factory remote start to at purchase.

I'm satisfied with the base xlt in the 21 but would like a "regular" remote start, I'm not much of a cell phone/app/tech guy. I don't particularly need the other 202A stuff and the pricing on the 200A is attractive to me.

OP: did you succeed in setting up remote start?

Thanks

I have not done this yet as we were okay with the app to remote start, however it has broke many times already where I had to go out and manually start the car to get it working again. I still wouldn't mind doing the install, Ive spoke to someone and they said it was possible but I have yet to see someone post the exact forscan changes etc to get it working.

EDIT: Opps I wasn't the OP of this thread. I did start this one though

FYI it may not be broken. FordPass only allows you (2) consecutive remote starts before you need to start with the key (either remote or in car). This is a "safety" feature.

I mean the app would not even start the car and would fail, I would have to manually start the car. Then later that day the remote start app would resume working. Almost like the cell side of the sync would get stuck.

Yes. It will not start the car at all, it will give you an error. You can only start the car 2 times in a row with remote start. If you try a third time, no matter how long between starts, it will not let you. You must use the key.

we only use remote start in The am, so this would be we park the car. Wake Up and Remote start in the am (first remote start since driving). No go: the error was not the normal error that you couldn’t do third start, the app would actually fail To fully communicate with the car. I’ve had the app just never start the car and I’ve had the app just keep cycling itself. I find it Very odd they chose the app vs the key fob on the base model to save cost.....my key fob remote start kit should be arriving soon. I’m super sick of this FordPass app

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app? I had an issue with the app for mine and it worked for me.

I have noticed that if you turn on the heated seats and leave them on when you shut off the Explorer they come back on just as you left them. My wife's side is on cremate all the time.
