Hi, I want to install a remote start kit for my 2003 ford explorer

Problem is I'm not sure which one to pick, a bunch of irrelevant stuff seems to also pop up when googling for one too. Any suggestions for one is appreciated

Viper makes a good system

The most common ones are the avital and viper brands which are basically from dei (expresskit.com) Usually they are not geared for DIY since they only give support to authorized installers.
Bulldog is also good for DIY (there's support for it) they have options for the most basic and premium models. The basic ones typically require you to sacrifice a key (universal bypass) and put it inside a bypass module which I consider not good and a security risk. When it gets cold those universal bypass fail most of the time (especially when it's needed most)

Avital (or any dei products) supports D2D which minimizes a lot of wiring especially when paired with DBALL2 or PKFM combo bypass modules. The combo bypass module is programmed to clone your key (instead of sacrificing one) and connect to the remote start module via D2D wiring, it also handles the parking brake, tach, alarm disable, dome supervision..etc functions.

You might try Crutchfield for electronic supplies. They give lifetime support on installation questions and how to use the product. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-8vGfoHtRbGd/

They've been helpful any time I've had questions. You can call them also
