I needed to do some modifications under the front bumper. This is my first explorer, all my previous cars were Honda's. Those I have down. I'm assuming it would be similar but has anyone taken their bumper off and where do I need to remove screws/plastic retentions?

Search is your friend, but not always. I was curious but did not find anything under search. Also not sure how different 2016 would be from, 2011-15 if I could find instructions for that, but I bet they are similar.

I don't believe any one has taken the bumper off a 2016 yet. There is a video, no sound, of a member removing his grille and bumper in one piece on a 2015 XLT. Go to this thread and start at post 133.

To just remove the grille see;

Hope this helps a bit.

Thank you, that actually gives me a lot of information to start with. Definitely a lot more fasteners than what I am used to. Not sure when I am going to tackle this project but it appears I might be the first one to put this up. I wouldn't mind if someone beats me to it though lol

I would like to add color matching fascia on my 2016 ford explorer mine is plastic at the moment.
