I have a 98 XLT with 31s a TT and Shackle lift, and will be adding an add a leaf.

My Question is if I remove the rear anti sway bar only, leaving the front in place, will it have an effect on highway driving in wind generally bad weather?

I've heard it helps alot off road, but I do not want a hure trade off, since this is my primary vehicle.

Thanks in advance

you will feel the different in normal driving with the rear end being a little loose.
So my opinion if you sure make some quick discounts for the rear sawy bar. So you have the benefit of both worlds

Instead of dissconnects, I would say get a pair of really good shocks in the rear, like Bilsteins. That will help your sway a lot. Then you can remove the swaybar and not have to hassle with dissconnects.

with the addaleaf and aftermarket shocks you won't have a problem in the rear. And for the front, just carry a 15mm closed end wrench and a 16mm ratchet for disconnecting it offroad. It takes about 3 minutes.

Ok I have the Monroe Sensatracks LT shocks. Do you think they are good enough?

I had heard allot of good things before I bought them at Sears but...

The thing that I thought was strange was the People at Sears had the Rancho RXS 5000 and the 9000s on sale and they really pushed me towards the Monroe's. I did get a Life time warranty for parts and Labor, but I probably would have gone with the 5000 for the extra $10 each instead of the Monroe's... Oh well. Actually the Monroes have done a good job for me up to this time anyway.

Thanks for the feedback and recommendations I will have the sway bar removed tomorrow

I have a 94 ex and I recently lifted it it had a rear sway bar which I removed totally I didnt really notice a difference without the rear its really just a towing option and not needed.I bought some qwick discos for the front on ebay http://ebay1.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_57bcfb2777f0b01b3d1adec441639350/i-1.JPG they worked great they were for a jeep but with a little grinding they fit perfectly. Here is the sellers email (mgraham@lgc.edu) I got the disconects for $10 the local 4x4 shops cheapest were a $100.I can disconnect the sway bar with no tools and I just zip tie it up so it stays out of the way.

Pretty cool. I think the rears are the ones I really need to worry about right now though.

Thanks for the response and advice. I may do the front like you have in the not too distant future.
But for now it's just the rears.

Thanks again
