Im sure this question has been asked before -- I just can't find it anywhere.

I have a 2000 Explorer eddie bauer 5.0 and Im just wandering how to can get access to install a new radio.

thanks a lot

There are 2 screws under the radio on the trim panel.. Remove those and pull the trim panel. Also to remove the radio you need the radio removal tool and you'll need a double din receiver kit.

I also found that removing the bezel around the radio will give you access to the radio for removal without the special tools also.

2 small bolts under the plate.

Removing the bezel first will give you access, but it's a royal pain... get the tools. The right tool for the job always makes it easier. Push them in 'til they click, pry them apart from each other, and slide the stereo out. Any other method is a royal pain.

Removing the bezel for extra room to work is as simple as removing the two screws above the HVAC controls, then pulling to release the clips. Make sure to unplug the switches and knobs.
