did you take out the plastic bracket surrounding the cdplayer there should be a metal caseing that holds the player in?

ya, i took off the platic thing around the faceplate but cant figure out what to do next. theres nothing to grab on to to pull it out.... what holding it in there so i can pull it out?

There is probably a metal clip on each side (DIN). Find something to shove in between each clip and then pull. Should slide right out.

Sometimes if you go to a Best Buy or Circuit City and you're really cool with them you might find a nice installer that will let you have some Kenwood "keys", they usually have tons just sitting around. If not, find something thin but strong, about 4" long and 3/8" wide, and push then in between the radio and the metal sleeve (cage, can, whatever) on the right and left sides, right in the middle. This should unlock the radio and allow it to slid out. :) Good Luck!
