I'm trying to remove the O2 sensor on the passenger side. I can't even get my hand up above the tranny to unplug the sensor. I did notice that there is an opening through the floor board, which happens to be under the center console.

Would it be easier to remove the center console and peel back the carpet to get to it? Or is there another method?

If removing the center console is the easiest method, how do I get out. I've tried in the past, but it seems to get hung up on the back side. Its the full console with rear air/heat and rear radio controls.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Heh I had your same problem getting the console out. It's easy actually. The reason it gets hung up it because you're not pulling right. Make sure you get the bolts out of the front and simply pull it backwards and it slides out of it's slot. But it sounds like alot of work just to remove an 02. Maybe you can recruit a neighborhood kid with small hands to help out.

It turned out easier for me to remove the center console and pull back the carpet and access the O2 sensor from the floor board. It probably took me an hour and a half. I had to go through a little bit of a learning curve. It will be a piece of cake next time! Hopefully, that won't be for another 80,000 miles!

The plug for the O2 sensor is mounted directly on top of the tranny. The plug has no flex, unless you are plastic man I don't think you could unplug the sensor from below.
