I am going to cut off the exhaust resonator and just wondered if anyone else had done this. I don't want it to be too loud, but I want to make it louder than stock. Right now I can't afford a flowmaster(which is what I really want) since I just got a set of rancho 9000's. Does anyone know what it sounds like without the resonator(but with the stock muffler)? I have the 4.0

I seriousley doubt you'll notice much difference at all with the resonator removed. It might be slightly louder, but not really noticable.

You won't notice a sound difference but remove it cause it may be restricting the exhaust.

If you plan on eventually going with a Flowmaster system, save some time and effort and don't worry about it until then. When you get the custom cat back installed, they will take all of that out and replace it with new pipe. I don't think the extra flow you would get from removing the resonator would be worth the effort of cutting it off and putting a new pipe in its place.
just my $0.02.

Thanks for the feedback, but I like to "experiment" and tinker around a lot, so I think I might go ahead and do it-just to see what happens. Why would they put it on there if it didn't do anything?

LOL! simple because they can chargeyou more for it!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :hammer:

:fart: I wouldn't be surprised if that were true.
