i hate the red and white placstic "sport" emblem. i've seen one or two guys who have removed it. how? i squirted it with some "goo gone" but it didn't seem to loosen the adhesive.

what i did was use my finger nail and the glue still on the logo. press the logo back onto the remaining glue and it would pick up small bits off the hatch. or just roll up a ball of it and use that. thats the ghetto way!

Took the SPORT emblem off the back of my truck and replaced it with Mercury. I then went to U-Haul and the guy just looked at it for a few minutes. He then hooked up the trailer to the back of my X, and I was on my way. I can't believe how stupid some of these guys are.

That is SO FUNNY.

Some people ( my self included ) like to use fishing line to remove emblems.
Wear gloves though !!!

as they say in the guiness commercials... "Brilliant!"

Goo Gone can damage your paint. Use the fishing line, then spray it with WD40. WD40 is good for removeing the glue and it will not hurt your paint.

i used goo gone to get rid of the residue left after i removed my pinstripes and it worked really well and didn't appear to do anything to the paint.... is it generally known to damage paint? i don't want to risk it if so.

Hey, I suggested this idea in the Uhaul thread. :p

I didn't think anyone would actually try it. :D

Yeh, I never thought I would get away with it, but he just went and got a trailer and hooked it up. Most of the workers here don't speak english and know little about cars, so I am one step aheah of the game.

I don't get the U-Haul thing. Do they not allow you to tow their trailers with Explorer Sport's ???

Or any other type of Explorer. But Mountaineers and Navajos are ok.

Uhaul is stupid

instead of trying that goo stuff... whatever.... try Mineral Spirits... to remove adhesive. Safe on paint at least...

Uhaul sucks.:mattmoon:

How about prep solvent.

WD40 worked great on mine last weekend. I used fishing line to remove tag and most of the adhesive came off with just my fingers and what was left just took a wipe of WD40.
