Repeat electronic problem

Hello all: I just joined and am form the East Central MN area. I have a 2001 explorer sport and the electronic module that energizes the 4X4 low and high ranges keeps crapping out on it. The dealer replaced it less then 90 days ago so its still under warranty at least as far as the part goes. Any one experienced this in the past and have an idea what triggers this failure?

did they give you back the old one?? if so, take it apart and see if there is anything obviously wrong, then check that/those circuits. if not, check or have them check ALL the inputs and outputs to see if any thing is wrong. if they're good then you may have gotten a bad part.

i would check the relay contacts in the module for burning/pitting which could be caused by the 'shift motor' in the transfer case.
