I tecently replaced the heater core on 2000 explorer. Now it will crank but not start. Inertia botton is pushed down. I cannot hear fuel pump, but do not know if I ever could. This truck has always cranked right up. Need advice asap!

Open fuel cap and have someone turn key on and listen into the fuel tank to see if you can hear fuel pump. If not, check fuses, relays and loose wires anywhere you were working. Reset inertia button by lifting tab up and down again to make sure it is ingaged.

Well it turns out the inertia button wasn't plugged up. Duh! Thanks for the tips

That inertia switch is easy to disconnect, when working on something near there, or under the glove box. Also be sure the wiring to it has some slack.

I have a 98 which had prior had some kind of major work done to it. The wiring is too tight there, and over time pulls the connector from the inertia switch. I'll have to pull the rug up there to be able to gain some slack in those two wires.
