my 92 explorer has had 4x4 on and off, ive tryed to clean it several times and that works but only for a few uses and it seems to get dirty again. So last winter i just decieded to go without it did not need it bc i was not driving the explorer that often away at school, now i have my car at school and i need it, the first snow storm took me 1 hr to get out of the parking lot im not doing that again. I was just going to have him put a new motor in he called his ford part supplier they wanted 525 for the motor i said no way he called a used auto part place they said 125 i said sure, anyways its been there for the past 2 days he put 2 differant motors in and neither of them worked. it just dawned on me that when i cleaned the motor i had to disconnect the neg side of the battery to restart the computer for 15 min before it would work again, could this be the same case with the motor, i need my car im going back to school on monday anything i could pass on to him would be helpfull, or what else could it be, the button and the computer are fine im almost certain i get one click then 3 sec later another click, oh and when the button is pressed there is power going to the motor for one second.
