I have to replace my front and rear rotors and pads soon. I was looking at the pads and rotors from www.performanceproducts.com Does anyone have this set of brakes on the xplorer? How are they? Or Does anyone know of better brakes and where can I get them? I have one more question, does anyone know when should the break fluid be changed, I have 51900miles on my xplorer. Thanks

I don't know which ones you are looking at because the link isn't specific, but, I put Raybestos Quietstop Pads on my X and they seem to work good. A little pricey because they are ceramic pads and make basically no dust...which really comes in handy when you have nicer rims.

I have the Extreme Performance pads from Performance Products. They seem to stop better than my OEM pads did, but they don't wear nearly as long. I replaced my original pads at about 50K miles. I purchsed a full set of pads thinking that mine should be about due. When I got things apart, it looked like I had another 10K miles or so before I would even need to get concerned about them. Since I already had the pads and felt I got my value out of the original pads, I went ahead and put the new ones on. Now at 36K miles later, my pads look to be worn down about as much as my original pads did at 50K. They have also been squealing something fierce for the last 6 months or so. I'm getting ready to start looking again. This time around I will need new rotors as well and am considering their Powerslot rotors to go with their Extreme Performance Pads.

Thanks For the quick response:)
