Has anyone had any experience with the hella 9004 headlight replacement bulbs? Are they any brighter? If not, what should I get?

dunno anything about hella really, all my lights are piaas andI'm very happy with them.

I'd recommend a set of piaa superwhites

IMHO, buying aftermarket headlights is a waste of money. You most likely won't notice the difference and you'll get the same output from PIAAs than you'll get from generic superwhites. I've seen them both to compare and I didn't notice any difference. If you want brighter lights, buy some aux lights from Hella. They are the best for the price, but if you have money to thorw around then buy some PIAA 520's.

I have a set of piaas.. at first I noticed no difference from my stock lights.. but after I have seen my friends headlights.. I've found that mine are actually much brighter than theirs.

I can however agree with you, unless you get higher wattage halogen replacements, you won't really see a huge difference in brightness. I got a set of 001 solitare driving lights on my guard for that.. they may look alittle small, but they give off some good white light, they really help fill the gap bet. the 2 headlights up front

Also, your best bet would be to find a pair of E code headlight assemblies and sue those with the brighter bulbs. E code lamps are more focused on the ground than the DOT ones. Ford UK should be able to help out on that.

where can i look for the e code lights, plrbear? is there a website or something for ford uk?

In my experience, I went to my 4X4 shop and to end my uncertaintly about shelling out mega bucks for PIAA headlight replacements, the guy replaced only one light and had me point my X to the wall of their store with the lights on...what a difference. The stock lights shown yellow while the PIAAs were brilliant white.

I went with the 80/100 9004 Hella's some time back and love them. Good improvement over stock bulbs and much less expensive than the PIAA's.

Best regards.

You'd want Forf Germany since they drive on the right side as we do. The UK lamps would be oriented incorrectly.

Anyone in Germany care to research some part numbers?

btw...i've had my piaa superwhite platinum 9007's for several months now, and they are amazingly brighter than the factory ones. just my .02

Go take a look at the new post i just made at..
