Replacement of thermostat on 2000 ford explorer v8

Hi, I'm new here and I am in need for some help in regards to replacing the thermostat in my 2000 ford explored limited. I have been through the threads and tons of pages on the internet and i cannot find and examples or diagrams on changing out the thermostat! i want to do this as soon as possible because my ac isn't working and its freezing in Georgia for my commute. I have the parts but just not the diagrams. the only pictures and diagrams are for the v6s and the parts are in completely in different spots on the engine on my v8. Any help would be amazing!!!!

Update, I got the parts off with the help of a friend and now i just have to put it back together. Are their any threads that apply to draining and flushing coolant?
