Replacement Shocks

Question for 2001ExpSport

How high did you go up with the torsion twist in the front? I noticed you said you got the Reflex shocks when you did the twist. I am in the process of installing new Reflex shocks right now. Have you had any problems with the front suspension being lifted and using the stock size Reflex shocks? I will be doing the same to mine in about one month.
If possible could you please e-mail me some very detailed and specific instructions on how to twist the bars and have a level ride? I want it to look really good but am a little worried about being able to do this myself and have it come out right. My address is yob_yeknom@hotmail.com if you have the time.

2001,

One quick thing, do you know a ball park idea of how long this 24" rear add-a-leaf will help before it sags? I just wonder because if it is 2-3 years, I see no problem with using one.

yob_yeknom,

I bought reflex shocks to overcome the added strenght of the twisted torsion bars. The front suspension won't extend past the shock length of the shock so you'll be fine. I got 1.75" out of the twist.

Adam, to tell you the truth I wouldn't worry too much about it. I have the short leafs and they are made for mid and full size trucks. They will flatten out after about 3 months, this is called 'settling'. So you'll loose maybe a 1/2 to 1" of lift. The original lift gained is 2.5".

So in the end it will be only 1.5 to 2 inches of lift? I just want to get rid of the butt sag. If it does it, I will be happy. The tires were an added bonus.

To be honest, for the price of $30 for a set of leafs, you won't be disappointed.
