I have a 06 xlt with 17 inch stockers. I also have a 95 xlt with 15 inch stockers and 235/75/r15 Goodyear wrangler rt/s. Does anyone have or know of a tire that is similar to the wranglers quietness and smooth ride. The 06 has Kelly's and they are loud.

I would say go with the Goodyear Assurance CS Fuel Max in the stock 245/65/17 and it should be a big improvement over the Wrangler RT/S. By far the most common that I see and is rated about the same as the Wrangler RT/S is the Wrangler SR/A on the 17 inch rim. Tire Rack has the Fortera HL on special right now and is rated about as good as the Assurance CS Fuel Max. Those are your Goodyear options... my suggestion is to look at the ratings of the different tires in the correct size over at tire rack and go from there.

The Kelly's are cupped really bad. Has anyone replaced there's lately?

Are you sure that it is cupping? Tires that have a higher load rating than manufacturer specs. on this vehicle have a tendency to "feather" only on the outside tread block and is normal. If you really do have cupping then you have bad struts/shocks. Most tires create more road noise as they wear and some can get really bad with 50% or less tread left.
My Coopers have not gotten that loud, but I would not be able to hear them over the slotted brakes that I run anyway and they are also at their limit around 4/32" with feathering in the outside tread block because I intentionally went to a higher load rated more aggressive all terrain tire.

What kind of coopers do you have?

Cooper Discoverer ATR, but it has been replaced with an improved tread block design and called the Discoverer AT3.

I heard the at3 on consumer reports was one of the highest rated all terrain tire. I have had the eldorado ztr sport that looks just like your atr on my 95 I have also had Kumho road adventure at a long time ago. Out of those 2 sets I liked the Kumho more. I got more mileage out of the ztr sports but my favorite tire for quietness has been the Goodyear wrangler rts but after about 50% of the tread being worn down they are not as good as when they are new. I like the quietness and smooth ride of a all season but I like the traction and looks of the all terrain tire. There are too many choices!

Been there too, that's why I went with the company that manufactures the majority of their tires here in the USA and does all the R&D here (Cooper), plus I don't need a tire to last more than 50,000 miles so the Discoverers work great for me and the traction doesn't really change much on the tire until you get down to 4/32 on them.

yeah I am thinking the discoverer at3 or the ht is a good choice. just have to pick a shop that i want to go to now. they are running a rebate dealer on them right now and the one shop i called said that they would be 575 after the rebate.
