replacing 3rd brake light

So i have recently been wanting to replace the 3rd brake light on my 2014 explorer as the stock one has alot of micro scratched and doesnt match the best with my black explorer, i was wondering if it was possible to replace it without removing the entire spoiler as there is no videos online on how to replace it

Downloaded the rear spoiler PDF. Shows the same as in the Ford Service Manual software. Even has the PICs.

You could put masking tape around the lens and polish out the scratches. It's not supposed to match your explorer, instead be the highest contrast possible, in a color that's still legal for brake lights (red).

Even if you insist on darkening it, before I went to the trouble of removing a working brake light, I'd look for a darkening film to try out instead. That will also protect the housing from scratches, while if you put a new housing on, I'd expect it to get scratches in the same environment the original was in.

Rear Spoiler Removal
NOTE: If equipped with police package, on both sides: remove the retainers and the light covers.
Release the clips and remove the upper liftgate trim panel.
Disconnect the washer hose and electrical connector.
Remove the spoiler to liftgate fasteners. Torque: 55 lb.in (6.2 Nm)
Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the retainer clips.
Remove the spoiler assembly.
