I need to replace my EGR Position Sensor on my 2002 Explorer XLT 4.0. I was just wondering if anybody knows where to find it. I did find the Pressure Feedback sensor but can't seem to find the Position Sensor. And just wondering how easy it is to replace. Very appreciative for any help you can give me.

I checked the Haynes manual under the EGR valve section and there is nothing mentioned about a "EGR Position Sensor". I see a "Differential Feedback Sensor" (located behind the throttle Body adapter) and a EGR Vacuum regulator Solenoid. This is a quote from the maunal on the operation of a 2002-2005 V-6 "Differential Feedback EGR system" , "the system is controlled by the Power Control Module (PCM), which uses the Crank Shaft Position sensor (CKP), the engine coolant temp sensor (ECT), the Intake Air temperature sensor (IAT), The Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) and the Throttle Position Sensor (TP) to determine when and how much EGR gas to recirculate". Maybe you are looking for one of these other sensors mentioned in the manual and not the one you are calling the "EGR position sensor". Hope this info is of some help to you.

Thank you for all that information. It is greatly appreciated. It sounds like I might need the Differential Feedback Sensor. Thanks alot
