Hey guys, I'm fixin to replace the motor in my 95 ploder and I was wondering if I need any specialty tools for this job. I'm picking up an engine hoist tomorrow and I'm picking up a torque wrench as well. Is there any other special sockets or anything I need? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks guys

doesn't look like you got any replies in time, but I am about to go pick up a new to me engine and start my own swap. Do you have any recommendations? This is my first swap, I have a cherry picker here and plenty of tools hopefully to get the job done. Only things I am concerned about is the transmission and fluid in it. I have never removed the fluid and wonder if there is any trick to getting it all out. I am wondering about the torque converter too? not sure how or if to drain it as well? also the debate on if I need to remove the transmission before I pull it? the new engine will not have a transmission with it. also it looks like the wiring harness just has one main plug on the driver side of engine, is that it? or are there more wires hiding out? Oh and mine is a 96 ohv 2wd

wish me luck!

only thing you will have to worry about is the ac, you can pull the engine with the ac system still intact, but you have to be careful. else you need to recover it.
