Replacing the heater core in a 97 ford explorer SOHC. Personally a FWD dodge guy, I hate how these nuts are way below down in the engine bay and hard to reach but having a problem getting the screw off the plastic case for what I believe is the AC condensor or radiator or whatever it is, because its blocking the left last nut for the heater core. And tool setup you use to get it, its the one in the bottom right of the plastic case. Checked haynes manual in store and there was no plastic case on the picture or we didn't see it. Any tutorial on doing the heater core?

Also heat ran in summer, now it doesn't. Air blows but no heat. Thermostat replaced coolant(including heater core) flushed nothing bad in it. Suggestions on what it is?

heat to cool

Ill bet its the door in the heater and a/c case that changes it from hot to cool when changing from heat to a/c, maybe the motor that turns it.

How accessible is it? There's a little flap that's got a hydraulic on it that seems to go to the AC, could this be it, should I put the heat on and hold it closed?
