Replacing HU

If I replace my HU will the rear audio controls still work ? If so what other alternative is there. I would like to upgrade my sound but not lose out on the features.

You have to do some major jury rigging to use the rear controls with an aftermarket HU.

Do you often use the rear controls? I never once used mine prior to a new HU.
