Ok so i found out today the rear left caliper is shot and leaking brake fluid all over the road. I am fixing this one my self and im a complete noob when it comes to any auto repair. I have all the tools for the job but no experience and limited common sense for this job. Please someone help! ASAP! This is my only way to work and i could lose my job!

Youtube video is good start. A couple more tips for replacing caliper:
- Use a pair of vise grips and clamp off brake line to prevent more fluid from escaping.
- Loosen banjo bolt (the bolt that holds the brake line to the caliper) BEFORE you take caliper off car. Make sure that you use the new copper washers that will come with caliper on BOTH sides oof the metal connector the banjo bolt goes thru.
- Fill the caliper with brake fluid before you put it back on car; you can put the little plastic plug from new caliper back in until you get it in position and are ready to hook brake line back up.
- You will have to bleed both rear calipers at a minimum - and probably front also if it has been leaking for awhile.

Remember - these are your BRAKES! Be a really good idea to have someone with experience help you, or at least review your work. Bleeding brakes is a two person job anyway.

This an EASY job on Explorers. Don't forget to bleed the brakes. If you don't have a vacuum pump (MityVac) you will need a friend to pump the brakes Just be sure you don't run out of fluid in the master cylinder. It would be a good idea to bleed all the brakes. Follow this sequence, Do the left rear first since you have changed it, then Right rear, left rear (again), right front then left front. Remember to keep master cylinder from running out of fluid.
