replacing outside passenger mirror

I got the inside door panel off and unscrewed the outside mirror. How do I get to the connection point to detach the old mirror? Do I need to remove the speaker to get to it or is there another way that I'm missing? I have a 2000 exp xls. Just a basic mirror to replace. Thanks for any assistance.

Yeah, pop out the speaker and reach up. About four or five inches up right next to the intrusion beam.

It is cliped TO the beam.
